In a quiet atelier in southern Brazil, the creation of this coffee table begins with a study of balance—between openness and enclosure, utility and elegance. Inspired by the honest geometry of midcentury Brazilian design, it was conceived not just as a surface, but as a keeper of space—a piece that holds as much within as it does above.
The wood, carefully sourced from managed Brazilian forests, is selected for its tonal richness and distinct grain. Whether Freijó, Tauari, or Jequitibá, each plank is evaluated for structural integrity and visual character. After a slow, controlled drying process that takes weeks—not hours—the wood is ready to be shaped by hand.
The table’s silhouette is low and architectural, defined by clean horizontal planes and softened vertical curves. At first glance, its lines are minimal, almost meditative. But lift the top or slide the panel, and hidden compartments reveal themselves, crafted to store books, remotes, or the quiet clutter of daily life. These storage spaces are integrated with precision, honoring the midcentury principle that beauty must serve function.
Each edge is gently rounded, inviting touch and human connection. The joinery is exposed only where it adds to the design—a visible reminder of the human hands behind its construction. The base, inset slightly from the tabletop, creates a floating effect, giving the piece a sense of lightness despite its solid wood structure.
The final finish is hand-applied using natural oils, enhancing the wood’s grain while allowing it to breathe and evolve. This is a table designed not just to be seen, but to be lived with—where objects find their place and moments are quietly gathered.
Handcrafted in Brazil, it’s a piece that bridges tradition and modern life—refined, grounded, and deeply functional.

Structure in Tauari
Multiples options of veneer availableTauari, also known as Brazilian Oak, is comparable to North American Red Oak, but 13% harder. Its colours range from off-white to medium brown, with a medium graining pattern and low luster. Tauari wood provides the highly sought after "wheat" colour associated with domestic oak. In addition to being visually appealing, this hardwood is also resistant to decay, insects, and other impacts, ensuring long lasting use of your Tauari wood product.
