We are Bastien Colombier and Hubert Trollé, the founders of Rua Madeira. Passionate about Brazilian design, we travel the roads of this beautiful country to meet with talented designers and artisans in order to create a unique collection. We are happy to share our passion for quality design furniture. Timeless furniture made to last, which our customers will be happy to pass on to future generations.
We have the pleasure to meet and work closely with each of our artisans. This allows us to be involved in all product processes: from the selection of eco-responsible wood and other raw materials to packaging and delivery. Each product in our collection passes through our hands, allowing us to ensure our clients receive the highest quality pieces and customer service. How can we make high quality handcrafted furniture affordable?
At Rua Madeira, we do not consider furniture as “consumables”. Furniture shouldn’t need to be replaced or repaired frequently. We put the respect of our planet as a priority. By providing you with strong products that you could pass on to the future generations, we limit the impact on the planet. Replacing or repairing furniture every few years is both expensive and an ecological disaster.
Hubert and Bastien created strong relationship with their talented artisans in Brazil and they share the same values. They work in transparency with no intermediaries, and are the only link between their clients and the artisans. These direct links allows Rua Madeira to :

RESPECT OF OUR PLANET
We ensure that the most environmentally impactful materials we use are 100% sustainably sourced. Meaning that we only use wood that comes from sustainable management forests or reforestation. All our wood have the Document of Forest Origin (DOF, Documento de Origem Florestal) or FSC. The DOF is issued by IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources).
