The female form serves as a muse for this statement piece. Womanly shaped Carafe with one large handle. This versatile ceramic carafe is perfected suited for serving water at the table or showcasing a bouquet. Each carafe has a unique expression and is slowly crafted by hand in Hanna’s studio in Rio de Janeiro.

    Materials: White stoneware with a layer of liquid porcelain slip that is fired in a powdery bone-white. Interior glazed in clear gloss, exterior left unglazed.

  • About the artist

    Hanna Englund is a Swedish artist based in Rio de Janeiro. Hanna creates timeless and sensual shapes with the intention of lasting a long time.

    With a career in fashion and product design, based in Stockholm and Shanghai, her love of creation has always been an important part of her life. When she moved to Brazil and started a family, she decided to pursue her new passion for ceramics, which became the starting point for a new creative direction. Hanna Englund's art is a reflection of the influences that Rio de Janeiro has given her, paired with her Scandinavian heritage. She focus on hand built and sculptural form inspired by the human body and the organic forms found in the natural world. Hanna creates ceramic sculptures and vessels using traditional methods, hand-building using coils and slump molds rather than a wheel, then slip casting these original forms. Her line of vases is designed for minimal floral arranging or to stand on their own as sculptural objects. Each piece has a unique expression and is made by hand in Hanna’s studio in Rio de Janeiro
